Om Jai Karwa Maiya — Karwa Chauth Aarti — Meaning

The devotee hails Karwa Mata and asks her to guide life’s boat safely across. The aarti praises her as the Mother of the world and Rudrani. Its verses express prayers for the husband’s long life, marital auspiciousness and prosperity during the Kartik Krishna Chaturthi vrat. Remembering Shri Ganesha as the remover of obstacles, the concluding verse celebrates the completion of the fast and worship.

Performing the aarti

Complete the worship of Gauri Mata and the Shiva family and listen to the katha. Light the lamp and sing with the family or other women observing the vrat. Repeat the refrain after each verse. Conclude by bowing to the Mother and praying for love, health and marital well-being.

After the aarti
